In 2020 I added filmmaker to my profile. I had only spoken with my mother about wanting to expand my artistic background and wellness educating to the cinematic space. I was interested in telling our (women) stories in a way that captivated yet educated. There is nothing more compelling and life defining than to experience a really good film. Upon the unexpected passing of my mom (4/4/20) I moved forward with this desire and partnered with Lions Heart Studio of Houston TX and created Black Boddess. This documentary reveals the riveting stories of black women and their uneasy sometimes critical experiences with the medical industry in the US. Black Boddess premiered November 2020 and has traveled to other spaces to spark conversation and change within our mindset and community.
